This work is the second volume of Drag-Free Drifts, Fifty Years of Fly Fishing Trips. The first volume detailed fishing trips from age eight until I turned grey, fishing water from Alaska to New Zealand and from Samoa to South Carolina. This second volume covers fishing exploits mostly from the Pacific Northwest, Idaho’s upper Snake River plain, and the greater southern Yellowstone National Park area. At an early age I was encouraged to keep a detailed account of my fishing exploits. This text is not fine literature. This text is a compilation of a lifetime’s worth of notes, short essays and photographs. It is a journal of lifelong experiences written to entertain and hopefully be of historical interest. I have kept some information vague with the hope of protecting special locations. This journal is not intended to be a guide on where or how to catch fish. I share my fishing experiences with you, hoping you will have success and, in turn, develop a deep appreciation for our fisheries and commit yourself to improve and conserve them. My intention was to document my experiences for posterity and relive memorable fishing trips when I am confined to a rocking chair in my senior years.
